Bumper Crop

So I went to Puerto Rico last week. Friends and neighbors picked the garden while I was gone.
I picked the garden today.

I don't think I have ever picked so much in one day!

And there is more to come!!!

2010 I had 3 weddings and 3 grandchildren born. Enough said!

2011 on Easter weekend I purchased my plants and seeds. The following week the tornado stuck. I was late getting it planted and no good produce.

2012 I started studying on ways to produce more. I had met Jim Kennard and taken a gardening class in his home when he lived in Gardendale, AL. http://www.growfood.com/ I visited the garden of an old friend, Duane Roland, who follows the Mittleider method. (Really he was my boss at Mr. Steak and I had not seen him in 40 years until last October.) And I also visited my sister Pat's garden.

I still did not plant until after Easter. I did not plant everything on the same day but began around the 16th of April.
Next to my grandchildren and my dog, I have loved taking pictures of my garden.

I even added irrigation to my beans and tomatoes.
But the spring has been wonderful weather wise.
I only wish the winter had been colder to kill the pests!

Now to reap the rewards!
Well, almost. I will now start canning beans for Thanksgiving Dinner and cold winter nights.

But I will take off for the birth of my next granddaughter, Sarah Grace (I think) this Friday. I may need to bring her big sister Hannah home to help me pick again next week!

And I am to be set apart as Northport Ward Relief Society President tonight with a tennis date tomorrow plus working at the Birmingham Temple. Life is GOOD!

My Little Rockers (Little Rock, AR) or my Little Rockies (moving to Denver, CO) were able to plant some pink eyed peas and pick some summer squash. Such wonderful helpers!!!!

Beach May 2012 with Nat and Rac and kids

I went to Knoxville on Tuesday March 13 for Natalie to be induced on Thursday. Nat went into labor Tuesday night getting to the hospital at 6 cm. I timed her contractions. That made me feel like I was a part of her labor.
Eva was born March 14th at 12:09 (about) weighing 9 lbs, 3 oz just like her mama. I guessed the correct weight and Stephen guessed the closest time of arrival. BTW I won the March Madness NCAA tourney for the second year in the row...just want to remember that.

I came home to buy a camera and keep Matt and Robyn's boys then returned to Knoxville with Rachel and Hannah.

Grandbabies come to Northport

February and March all 6 of the grandbabies came to Northport to visit without their parents. Also Grandma Ollie spend 4 weeks in Morning Pointe and even took a trip to see new Baby Eva. We visited with Aunt Bev with Colton and Lindsey. Lindsey and her parents, Chad and Christi are living with Aunt Bev since their house was blown away in the tornado of January 23rd in Trussville. Plus we visited Aunt Katie and Uncle Lance. They bought their first house in Pelham.
